How do you manage consulting interviews and onboarding- online?

We find that there are many consultant buyers who has stoped with their consultancy needs, just because they are worried about how to set up an online introduction.

This should not be a obstacle, but today there are many good tools and several consultants are now set up to get online introductions, given the circumstances. How do you manage consultations and onboarding online / remote? And have you set up good structures?

My advice to all our lients and companies is to quickly develop an online process, even for consultants, to keep you attractive and not lose speed.

First, you start by developing a clear structure for how you conduct consultant interviews online. Then you develop the onboarding proceses. Think agile, everything does not have to be clear, but the most important thing is that you know what the consultant should do for the first 2 days, the rest can get along the way.

Here are some tips on how to have a consultant interview online:

  1. Make sure you have good video conferencing tools (Dare to test, you don’t need to do a big study now, test a couple first)
  2. The most effective is that you take an initial interview opportunity with a maximum of 2 people from the customer, so that there will be too many participants. This can create bad dynamics during the interview
  3. Better to supplement with an online- technical test, after or before the interview, for best results
  4. Prepare all colleagues with what questions to ask and how to set up the meeting
  5. Make sure the video link technology and invitation work and start 5 minutes before starting
  6. Please send us an agenda on how the interview will be organized, for best preparation
  7. Think about the background of the video, your clothing,etc

Onboarding process online

Once the consultant has signed and it is clear for him / her to start, then designate which team will hold the onboarding process and appoint and be responsible.

Unfortunately, we have less experience of this and hope that the customer gets help elsewhere, but we know that this will be done quickly. : =)
