12% of the consultant buyers use consultant brokers

According to a article on Computer Sweden, almost 80% of all senior consultants are either freelancers or work at small companies and 12% of consultant buyers use consultant Brokers.

Many are talking about lack of expertise within the IT- industry. Although there are signs of a slowdown in the business cycle, the demand for IT skills is increasing. In addition, the most experienced senior consultants and experts avoid the large consulting companies.

– If you are looking for the absolute most experienced IT consultants today, who have more than 15 years of work experience, then you should look for freelancers or smaller consultant companies.  Almost 80% of the experts work in these types of organizations. This is a big change happening in the Swedish market now, says Hans Werner, CEO of Radar Ecosystem.

The difficulty of finding competence is also reflected in consultant prices. In Sweden, consultant prices increase by 2% this year, but in some areas the increases are as large as 6%, 7% or 8% – and this is not surprisingly about consultants with experience. Then again, one should keep in mind that the business cycle is slowing down. This is the third consecutive year that the average prices of consultants are increasing.

Other trends in the Swedish consultancy market (and this is a Swedish trend – which is not as clear in other Nordic countries) is that consultant Brokers continue to gain ground.

turnover of 8.9%

This too goes hand in hand with the fact that experienced consultants choose to work for themselves. Consultant brokers mean that there is a platform for this and that freelancers themselves do not have to be out picking customers or participating in procurement.

The traditional consulting market is still the largest with its turnover of SEK 39 billion and is expected to increase in value by 3.7 percent.
